Game Ball

On the first practice game of the season, Brantley got the offense game ball. He made 2 super hits and drove several runs in. He got the game ball for the night and was so excited. Here in the pictures you can see him holding the ball and also trying to hide it in the sand from the other boys. Here they take basebll very serious. If you ever listen to Rick and Bubba in the mornings, Speedy is one of the coaches so you know it is serious! We love the parks and baseball leagues here. Can you see how much I love this town? It finally feels like home after 3 years!

4 year anniversary

This is a picture from last Thursday when we went out to dinner at Shula's for our 4 year anniversary. TK surprised me with 2 dozen roses at our table and he surprised me with the location, I had no idea where we were going. We had a wonderful evening and the food was awesome.

Ice Cold Lemonade!

Brantley wanted to have a lemonade stand last weekend, and he loved it! He yelled all afternoon "Ice Cold Lemonade".He made $7.50 and even gave most of the lemonade away for free to runners and walkers. I am so thankful that we live in a neighborhood and town where kids can still do this.

One Tree Hill

I am so addicted to this show! I tivo a lot of shows but only a few I schedule everything around, this one and Desperate Housewives. I am so addicted to OTH now! It makes me sick that I had to work tonight! I tried to catch a sneak peak on TV but my boss was still here. I love this show! I always watch The O.C. on Soap Net and OTH comes on before it, those are just reruns but on Tuesday nights they are all new and "all grown up- four years later". Tonight was the 100th episode and Lucas's wedding, I am dying to know what happened. If any of you OTH fans are reading this please leave me a comment so I know what happened.

P.S.- I know he didnt marry Lindsay b.c it says on the show she is just guest starring- or atleast I hope I am right!

I have been tagged!

Melanie Smith tagged me!

Here goes nothing!

Rules: List 5 things that you do or dont do for A) yourself, B) child, spouse or friend, C) Stranger

For myself
1. always take a long bubble bath every night! TK watches the boys while I take my nice bubble bath- very relaxing and refreshing!
2. get pedicures- I love getting pedicures or any spa treatment, The Greenhouse Day Spa is my favorite place at the Summit! It used to be Saks and Swoozies- but now it is The Greenhouse Day Spa- if you are ever in Bham- check it out, it is awesome and everyone is so nice!
3. tivo the O.C., One Tree Hill, Desperate Housewives, Cashmere Mafia and Lipstick Jungle- then watch them while I am feeding Jaxson.
4. starting to get very involved at church- we just changed churches- it is very refreshing!
5. Blog- this is therapy- but my house is not as clean as it should be these days- because I blog too much!

For my Spouse and Children
1. I spend way too much for childrens clothes for Brantley and Jaxson and spend way too much money on them- but they are only little once and need to be cute while growing up!
2. Take my kids to the park every chance I get! I love the outdoors and I am happy about Spring!
3. For TK- I take his clothes to the dry cleaners and pick them up- my kind of laundry- Just kidding, he has to wear suits everyday- so I always send his shirts and suits to be dry cleaned- the cleaners hates to see me coming with about 20 shirts at a time. Reality check- it is really worth the money for them to press the shirts like they do, it would take me 20 minutes to do one, so it is worth the money! I also try to cook his favorite meals for him, have a date night when we can- our anniversary is next week- so maybe I can see one in the near future!
4. Brantley- my favorite little buddy! I read to him every night! He loves to be read to and we try to do atleast one book. I also try to watch TV with him every afternoon when it is cold- A) I am spending time with him and taking a break, 2) I am keeping up with what he is watching. If it is warm outside we love to go outside together!
5. Jaxson- I spend all of my time with him during the day, nursing him, comforting him, holding him, playing with him, changing him- some days without sleep- because of working the night before.
(I could list more than this, but these are the ones that come to mind first)

For Strangers
1. The other day as I passed 3 cars with expired parking meters I inserted a quarter in each to renew the time- TK told me to stop- but I reminded him that it might be his vehicle one day ( and by the way this was on MSU's campus Wednesday)
2. I care for strangers each day at work- comforting them and giving them- or telling them about hope
3. I smile at everyone- unless they make me uncomfortable
4. I am a blog stalker to strangers and friends- sorry
5. I am very big on saying thank you and being very nice to everyone and now I am teaching Brantley the importance of this- and teaching him that everyone is equal- no matter what they do or dont do and that color doesnt matter and that we are all the same and equal!

I now tag- Ashli Holliman and Kelly Mason

We took these pictures Sunday after church, since it was BEAUTIFUL outside. We woke Jax from his nap so for pay back he would not smile in any of the pictures!

First Tooth!

Jax has his first tooth! I could feel it for a couple of weeks, but now it has broken through the surface. You can only see it when he is upset, so I will not post a picture, but I had to blog about it. Jaxson is also finally sitting up well without support and crawling everywhere. Today he pulled up on a toy, so I know that it wont be long for that now. This is just all happening so fast!

Congrats Todd and Rebecca!

Todd Smith one of our very good friends, and his girlfriend Rebecca were engaged this past Tuesday! Rumor is the wedding will be early fall in Seaside! I just love this couple! I am so glad that they are going to become one!!! We love you Todd and Rebecca! Look forward to seeing you soon!

BLESSED

Everyday I realize that I am blessed, but I never post about it, afraid that I will sound as if I am bragging. But, today I realized that sometimes we take for granted what we have and we are always wanting more. On some days I find myself sitting at a red light- wishing I had the Range Rover in front of me or looking at the latest Louis Vuitton purse, wishing I had it. Knowing that materialistic things are not what life is about! - How could I ever want more than what I already have? I realized today that I am very selfish for wanting these things when I am so blessed already! I have a wonderful husband who loves me and our kids more than life itself, 2 beautiful boys that I cherish every moment with and feel as if there are not enough hours in the day to spend with them and TK. - Today in Sunday School I realized all of this, not that I do not think of this often, just the whole picture came together this morning in church- and how ashamed I am for not realizing sooner! The point to this post was that no matter what we have or dont, we are all blessed, each and everyone of us in a different way. Having tons of money or tons of debt, children or infertility, we are all blessed and can be used to Glorify God no matter what our past is or what the future may hold!

Spring Fling

Spring is my absolute favorite time of year! This year I wanted to do something fun! I have met a lot of you blog friends out there, and came into contact with old friends! This Spring, I wanted to do a little gift swap- like Jenny did in the Fall. What better way to start the Spring with something "Springy" from a new friend? Just email me your name, email, blog address (if you have one)and mailing address. Then I will try to place people with a "new friend". Each person will send one gift ( something small)- something that reminds you of Spring or is "Springy" to someone, and someone will also send you a gift- the 2 will be different! I think this sounds fun, and I love getting stuff in the mail! So, if you are up to it, email me at haleywood@bellsouth.net. The deadline to do this is next Thursday, so I can have all the names out by March 1st. I will give you the name of the person you are sending the gift to via email with all the details,so everyone should have their gifts out around the 10th and can enjoy the "happy" before Easter!

Brantley Boy

Big Boy Seat

On Tuesday, I went and purchased Jax a new carseat. He met the weight limit on the carrier and his feet were starting to hang off. He really likes his new seat- he is up higher and can see out better. Just another sign- of how he is growing too fast!

7 months old!

Time is passing way too fast! Jax was 7 months old on Monday! He is growing fast too! He can move around- trying to perfect his crawling and can sit up when he wants to. He rather be moving- so sitting up is not what he has on his mind. He loves to play in his bed with his toys, and he absolutely loves Brantley! He giggles and smiles at him all the time. Jaxson is a very happy baby! He is a joy! Brantley loves him too! He wants to see Jaxson as soon as he gets home from school and he always wants to sit by him and read to him. They are so sweet together. No shots this month- not until April. We just booked is birthday party- so in a few months all the planning will begin. We leave for Vacation the day after his birthday, so we are planning his party earlier. He is now wearing a size 3 diaper and eats food 2 to 3 times a day, and milk about 4 to 5 times a day- all depending on naps and bedtime. His favorite food so far is gerber organic banana, peach and barley, and vegetable is sweet potatoes and apples- mixed. He is a growing boy!

Moving Around

Jaxson has finally started moving on all fours! He would just roll around to get whatever he wanted or where he wanted, but now he rocks back and forth- then he uses his hands and knees to move. He gets excited when he does it. The pictures above are him in action!

Go Wildcats!

Our Basketball Season is almost to an end, and I know that Brantley will miss it! He is really good, but I have to stay on him about being a ball hog- and at the same time people that come and watch him are yelling Shoot Brantley! So he gets confused! I am trying to get him to listen to the coach instead of the crowd- but at 6, this is hard to understand.

Valentine's Day Party

I just love being able to go to all the school parties! I feel like a child again getting ready for all the parties! Brantley's class had a sundae party and exchanged Valentines. I love the ones that he took! I ordered the bags from Baby Face Design and they were so cute! All the moms loved them!

Brantley's Valentine's Gift

Brantley loves webkinz! We were on our way to dinner and he saw the store Sweet and Sassy- which is totally for little girls! Cute store- but nothing for boys- I thought. As we were driving by, Brantley saw the webkinz sign, so we had to go in to get the latest puppy that was out. He was excited, and could not care less, about all the other Valentine's Day stuff that he got, he just wanted the webkinz.

Valentine's Day

Our Valentine's Day was great! I was walking inot the grocery store about 3:45pm, to get things to make dinner at home, and TK said- Why dont we just go out to eat somewhere nice very early. Looking down and seeing my "mom clothes" on and thinking about 2 children at a nice restaurant- I kindly said "thanks but maybe next year". He insisted- so at 4:45 we met at Firebirds- one of my favorite restaurants and we had dinner. There was no wait and the kids were great! This was the best Valentine's Day!

The Last 7 months

The last seven months have been great with our perfect new addition! Brantley is in love with Jaxson and Jaxson just lights up when Brantley is around. It is so sweet to see them together. When they are playing- TK and I will just look over at each other and smile. Being the mom of 2 is very hard- but VERY Rewarding! I have been wanting to post for a while the things that make motherhood much easier, but I haven't had the time. I am going to list some things now, but I know that I will probably have several "follow ups" to this post!

1. Angel Care Sensor Monitor- Couldn't live without it- the first 4 months when SIDS is all a mom thinks about- this was a wonderful peace of mind, of course then you start thinking, well what do I do if it goes off? TAKE A CPR CLASS for infants! I have to take one every year to keep my nursing license current, so this past year when I renewed, Guess who was at my side- TK!

2. Video Monitor- Okay- so when you have 2 children- you cant just stare at one all day like you really want to, so this was excellent! TK bought me this the day we came home from the hospital. I was having a post pardum moment and he rushed to target and being the sweet husband he was, he bought this. I know it is a little more than most monitors, but I think th price is coming down finally!

3. Inch Bug Labels- I cant take the credit for these, I saw these on Jenny Holloway's Blog last summer. These are perfect for going to church, moms day out, anything!

4. Boppy Pillow- I think all moms will agree- especially nursing ones!

5. Medela Breast Pump- this has become my best friend since Jax was born, it goes everywhere with me! I recently upgraded to the new Pump in Style Metro Bag- great for travelling!

6. Bob Stroller- Great for the Mall, Doctors Office, Park, Running/Walking, etc. This stroller is awesome! Everywhere I go, people ask me where I got it, when they see how easy it is and comfortable for Jax. My friend Katie bought one and TK picked it up for her, TK thought it was a great thing- so we went back a couple days later and bought one. Thanks Katie!!

7. Combi 3 way Folding Stroller- This stroller is great for travelling and easy to carry. It folds into a 3rd of it's size and has a carrying strap! Comes in cute colors and designs too.

8. Organic Baby Food! This puts an ease to my mind about too many steroids, pesticides, etc. in the first year of life. I started to make my own, but just decided to start buying it since more and more have become available. It cost just a little bit more, but is better for the baby, especially if allergies run high in your family. So far everything we have given him has been organic- that is my goal for his first year!!!

9. Mom Agenda- TK bought me one of these at Swoozies a couple of years ago, now I cant live without it! It has a place for you to record each day for each child! Very Handy and easy to use!

I will have to post more later as I think about them- this is just the major things that help a busy mom!
