Looking back....
Two years ago on Christmas Eve, TK and I had just had a visit with Santa Claus and was getting ready for bed. TK's phone rings and it is Lu and Katie. I could hear TK talking to Lu and then, Katie told TK to put the phone on intercom. She asked when we were due- which was July 25th with Jaxson, and she went on to say "well I hope we can make it, because we are due the 29th!" I was so excited for them!!! TK and I could not believe it! Lu and TK grew up together and are really good friends. Not knowing at that time we would both have boys and they would be born on the same day- which Katie called me on July 17th, asking all about the details of our scheduled c-section. Then she went on to tell me that she had just left the doctor and was scheduled to be induced the next morning. - Kinda neat for 2 close friends to both have boys on the same day. Lu and Katie are such great friends and we miss them and wish we lived closer to each other!!! I just had to post this- as I love Christmas Eve and that year was extra special!

How BLESSED we are!
Earlier tonight, TK and I , along with both boys, went with our church to deliver stockings to children and hams to their families. It was very humbling and seeing the children get excited, just made my heart excited! Brantley, being only 7, is a very loved child with many grandparents and parents that spoil him! I wanted him to go tonight to see how exciting it was for these children and how much they appreciated all that we did for them. I do not think that Brantley was too young to see this. I think it is important to be involved in community work and volunteer, even as a young child.
Each Wednesday night, our church does a bus ministry to a part of Birmingham, that most would never enter- much less pick a child up and carry them to church and bring them home. On Wednesday nights when we pick up the kids, they are brought to the church, given a good meal, and then they break off into small groups to learn Bible verses and have Praise and Worship time. These kids are so excited to come each Wednesday! Tonight, they were waiting by the door for us to get there! They were so excited that they would have a special gift!
These kids have really taught me tonight to be thankful for how I was raised and how BLESSED I am! My husband has such a kind heart and is such a great Godly man, these children love him so much! Mr. T.K.!!!! all the kids yell, when they see him!
Kinda like Starbucks- pass along the cheer! I encourage everyone to do somekind of volunteering before the holidays are up. It will make you very happy- especially if you can touch someone's life!

The Shober Family
Here you can visit T.K.'s sister Brandi, her blog. Stella was born on Brantley's birthday this year, November 19th. I am so happy that they now have a blog- even though we live only a few blocks away- it is hard with everyday life to catch up sometimes!

Thanks Nash!
Brantley In Winter Wonderland!
As you can tell on Brantley's face, he was so excited to be there! He had a blast! They had tons to do for the kids and Santa Pictures were free. This was all at our new Bass Pro Shops! We are really not ourdoor people- but this store makes me want to go camping! We spent 3 hours in there the first night and 2 hours the second night when we met The Penters- and both of these nights we had the kids!!! The last picture in this post is Brantley shooting a Red Ryder Gun- remember a Christmas Story? "You'll shoot your eye out!!!"
